Reflection #5

Being in the middle of the semester I feel that my momentum is kind of going up not down because in the beginning it was down, but I don’t feel that I’m there yet. I’ve missed second semester so my momentum has been just very lazy not willing to work hard. A few weeks has passed now and feel that my momentum is going up but don’t feel that I’m there yet. I need to bolster up a lot more because I am working hard by studying and staying at school and doing work but I’m doing work and studying in the last minute, also I’m sleeping pretty late need to change that as well because I’m use to sleeping late and because of that I’m sleepy the rest of the day and that’s what gets me not to do anything. The way I need to bolster up is by changing my sleep time, try to go to sleep earlier that what I’m use to. By doing that I think ill be able to do all the work I need to do in class and study harder and not be doing my work that is giving to me in the last minute and stress out. What’s keeping me motivated for me to keep going and changing things for me to get better is the hard work my parents do for me to go to school and also my self because I think of the importance of school and how its part of how my future is going to be.

Reflection

Long-term goal: get Masters
Mid-term: do all my requirements for me to transfer and be able to accomplish my long-term goal.
Short-term goal: Do my best in everything for me to accomplish my education and succeed in life.

Dear, Angela Henderson
How are you mam? I hope everything is going good in your life. I just wanted to tell you about how I am doing to accomplish my goals. Right now I’m succeeding on my mid-term goal and on my short term goal. I just got all the units that I need for me to able to transfer to the university of my dreams which is UCLA. I transferred with grades of A’s and B’s and I have upgraded my grades with the hard work I do. I have been doing everything I can do be accomplishing in my education with me doing all the extra credit the professors give. I’ve going to the writing and tutoring center for I can get help with work that I get when I don’t understand something. I did all my homework that I was assigned to and studied for all my exams and quizzes that I had. With all this hard work I do for my education I know it will be worth it for me to succeed in life. With me accomplishing this two goals it has brought me to my long term goal which is to get my masters and if I keep doing my best to finish my career I know I will accomplish this goal as well.

Reflection

A story that has impact me would be a story in this clip that I just saw a few weeks ago, that when I saw I was like “wow! This guy is amazing”. It’s about this guy name Rick Hoyt that has a disability, he can’t walk, move his arms, can’t talk, all he has is his computer he talks from and on a wheel chair and his dad Dick Hoyt that takes care of his son (“Team Hoyt”). It all starts off with Rick asking his dad that he wants to race on a triathlon for a charity and his that of course says yes they’ll do it. They start training for it for the event. The event came and it starts with the swimming first, in this part the son is on a boat and the dad starts swimming while his pulling his son on his back. Seeing that part I was like wow this has to be hard. He has to swim with all the wait of his son, the boat and the waves being pretty rough. Then after it’s the bike ride, with this there is a sit in front of the bike with his son on it and then his dad on the bike peddling. When I saw this part I was impressed of how much dedication his dad had he never stop peddling no matter if he had to go slow he kept going. The final thing they had to do was to run; Rick was on his wheel chair and his dad behind him pushing him all the way to the finish line. Seeing the part of them going to the finish line just touched my heart even more, his dad ran so fast like if he got an extra energizer or something. With so many people on the stands cheering, taking pictures, camera men recording them than once they passed the finish line that night all the people got even crazier. Then seeing the smile on the son moving his arm back and forth was like wow this is so cool, so amazing it just really touched me made me have a few tears. Than the look on his dads face was just like this was for you son and he looked very proud, that he accomplished something very big to his son. Also during this clip Rick is tipping down “I can” with that he meant that he can do anything, because also his dad has said: “you can do anything you can, as long as you put your heart in it”. With what “Team Hoyt said just reminded me as well of my dad and me we’ve both has said the same thing. This story inspired me that I can accomplish anything no matter what and the friendship and love between a father and a son.

For this week what I had plan was to have a great week at school, to do all my work, study and stay on task with all my classes. Also was for everything to go well at work as well, to no have a lot of trouble with the kids. I also wanted to study for my vocab test I was going to have on read 96 and also study for the quiz for Eng. 60 that I was going to have on Wednesday. Than on Thursday I was planning get out of work early to go to my friend senior night for basketball and then go to school after. On Friday I was just planning to go to this group of teens I go to and Saturday go to a hockey game with my neighbor. Than finally Sunday I was planning to go to church, watch the Laker game and do my homework. Everything that I plan was not all accomplish; I didn’t study for both of my quiz because I had other homework to do. I didn’t do well on my vocab test and for my Eng. 60 quiz I’m not sure how I did but hopefully I’ll do well. I did leave work early on Thursday to go to my friend game but then after I wasn’t able to make to my other class at seven pm. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday I was able to accomplish my plans for those days. Now for the next week I’m planning to do better than what I did the week before. By actually studying for the upcoming quizzes and stay on task on my classes and not miss a class this week. Also to have a good week at work and bring them candy for Valentine’s Day. I don’t really have anything planned for the weekend but just do homework that I have and study and will see what the weekend brings.

The Things I Carry

For me I don’t feel I carry that many things in me, but there is a few things and what they’re usually are is either things going on at that time that I’m in that I need to do (future or present) or just painful things that take time for me to forget. Not all things are painful things though I also have great things that just stay inside of me as well that are just great memories. The things I carry that are things that are in present like when I’m at work I carry the things I need to say to my students as a proper way also I carry there names for I can call them and show that I care about them. I carry the drawings that my students make me as well cause those pictures is just the energy that keeps me going to work to be with them and makes me not want to miss work. Also I carry the things that I have going on in school like things I learn, the homework I need to turn in and what I need to do in that class. Another things I carry are things that has happen to me, either good stuff or bad as well that takes time to get rid of. For example the good things would be the day I graduated which I will never forget that day because I was with my friends and family and the first one in my family to graduate I will never forget that day. Now the bad things would be like a break up or losing some in my life which I wouldn’t want to get in that much detail because it just breaks me down.
